                                    Green Initiatives

Motor carriers are going "green" which means taking steps to conserve energy and protect the environment.

The below are links to several resources than can help with information on energy efficiency and environmentally friendly operations.

Port of Baltimore Clean Diesel Program

The Maryland Port Administration and the Port of Baltimore are committed to making POB a nationally recognized leader in environmental responsibility and management. As part of this effort, the U.S. EPA will provide grant funds to assist truck owners and operators in retrofitting their vehicles with emissions reduction technologies or replacing older, more polluting trucks.

To get assistance with financing help and other business issues, sign up for a Financial Planning Seminar for Port Dray Truckers.  The workshop is being offered by Maryland’s Small Business Development Center together with the Port Clean Diesel Program partners, and is planned for early 2010.

SmartWay Transport Partnership

The SmartWay Transport Partnership is an innovative collaboration between EPA and the freight industry to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
