MDOT’s Office of Minority Business Enterprise conducts a free monthly workshop for firms interested in applying for certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and/or Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE).
The workshops are held on the first Tuesday of every month at MDOT Headquarters in Hanover, MD. Content includes an examination of the five eligibility standards and a
review of the complete application process. We will also take an indepth look at the Uniform Certification Application (link provided below) and provide answers to the most common questions of applicants who have gone before you. We'll tie it all together with a brief look at how to connect to business opportunities with the State of Maryland and offer some valuable marketing and business development tips.
Workshop participants have the opportunity to meet with a certification expert one-on-one and ask questions that are specific to their company(s). To maximize this opportunity, be sure to review the Uniform Certification Application prior to the workshop and come prepared to ask all your questions during your personal one-on-one session.
Whether you have already started working on your application or are trying to determine if MBE/DBE/ACDBE certification will benefit your business, this workshop is right for you.
In addition to the monthly workshops conducted in the morning, four evening sessions are also available. In March, June, September and December, the application assistance workshop will be repeated in the evening starting at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to select your preferred time when registering in these months. Just like in our morning sessions, participants are able to meet with a certification expert following the presentation.
