Under the O’Malley-Brown Administration, State agencies are working together to accomplish this goal.The Maryland: Smart, Green & Growing initiative is a multi-agency, Statewide initiative to help Maryland achieve a more sustainable future by linking community revitalization, transportation improvements, economic development, smart growth and environmental restoration efforts. Accordingly, the Maryland Department of Transportation is working closely with the Department of Planning and other stakeholders to develop the first State Development Plan to ensure that these plans are supportive and define a larger State vision.
