Equal Employment Opportunity Program Components

  • Discrimination Complaints – Investigates internal complaints of discrimination and develops position statements in response to external complaints filed with the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights (MCCR).
  • Affirmative Action - The Affirmative Action Program provides a program and management tool for MDOT’s managers, supervisors, Human Resources staff, and Fair Practices/EEO professionals that address employment and the effective utilization/representation of minorities and women, and individuals with disabilities in the workforce, as compared to their representation in the State Civilian Labor force (CLF). The AAP analyzes and monitors the representation of the protected groups in the eight (8) EEO Job Categories:
    • Officials/Administrators
    • Professionals
    • Technicians
    • Protective Service Sworn
    • Protective Service Non-sworn
    • Administrative Support
    • Skilled Craft Workers
    • Services/Maintenance
  • Reporting- Annual EEO Report are submitted to the Department of Budget and Management/Office of the Statewide EEO Coordinator; bi-annual EEO-1 Report; and various demographic statistical reports.
  • Customer Service – to provide excellent and responsive customer service to MDOT’s internal and external customers
