“Bridging the Gap between Minority Businesses and Government Contracting”

Aspiring and current entrepreneurs are welcome to attend The Entrepreneurial Expo on Saturday April 6 from 1:30 to 5:30pm at Caldwell Hall, Catholic University. Presented by The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Expo Highlights:

  • Networking session: 1:30 to 2:00pm
  • Presentations by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Minority Business Development Agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce
  • Panel of experienced contractors share their stories and strategies for contracting with the government
  • Information on government contracting opportunities, Set-Aside and Preference programs

Expo participants include

  • Former NFL player and DC native Edward Simms III of Simms Construction;
  • Hairstylist and DC native Melanee Williams of Rockin’ Roots;
  • Diane B. McCain, CEO of Potomac Management Solutions, a human resources company experienced in government contracting;
  • Walker’s Legacy, founded by Natalie Madeira Cofield, and named one of the “25 Companies Determined to See Women Succeed” by;
  • plus successful entrepreneurs in the fields of IT, Risk Management, Training & Consulting, Financial Planning and Physical Security.

Through this Expo, The Federal City Alumnae Chapter aims to empower small business with roadmaps and strategies to garner business contracting opportunities with the government.
