      On a monthly basis, the Maryland Department of Transportation's Office of Small and Minority Business Policy hosts the MBE/DBE/ACDBE/SBE Application Assistance Workshop.  This workshop is intended for those firms interested in seeking Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and/or Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification.  By attending the workshop, you will learn the benefits of certification, the five key requirements for certification, and the four steps in the certification process.  For information and registration visit www.mdot.maryland.gov/aaw.

    • Industry Day Time: 9:00a - 3:00p Location: Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School-Auditorium 12650 Brooke Lane Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 Details:

      Hosted By: Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) and Department of Capital Programs

      PGCPS will hold Industry Day on April 17th for those interested in submitting proposals to participate in the public-private partnership (P3) school construction process.  PGCPS plans to utilize the innovative P3 partnerships approach to renovate, maintain, or build new schools in a shorter timeframe and at a lower cost than the traditional process allows.  By 2026, the P3 partnership is expected to result in 18 new schools.

       

      Hosted by the Department of Capital Programs, the session will cover various topics, including design, construction, financing, and maintenance.  Interim Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Monica Goldson, will be joined by Prince George’s County Executive, Angela D. Alsobrooks, County Council Chair, Todd Turner, and Board of Education Member, Sonya Williams, at the event.  A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be issued later this spring.

       

      Companies may also explore opportunities to team up on projects during the event.  All companies should register in advance for inclusion on a partnering list to be shared with all participants.  Local and MBE firms are encouraged to register; their information will be shared with all potential bidders.  Interested parties unable to attend Industry Day are still eligible to submit qualifications for the project.

      The Government Procurement Conference is a national conference fostering business partnerships between the Federal Government, its prime contractors, and small, minority, service-disabled veteran-owned, veteran-owned, HUBZone, and women-owned businesses. Now in its 29th year, the Government Procurement Conference has become the premier event for small businesses throughout the United States.

      These public workshops in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in April and May 2019 will present the traffic, environmental, and financial analyses for the recommended Screened Alternatives along with the recommendations for the alternatives to be retained for detailed study in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.

      Meeting format at the public workshops:

      • The MDOT SHA team will guide attendees through the workshop materials that will include informational displays, handouts, and interactive and hard copy mapping. Staff will be available to answer questions.
