      On a monthly basis, the Maryland Department of Transportation's Office of Small and Minority Business Policy hosts the MBE/DBE/ACDBE/SBE Application Assistance Workshop.  This workshop is intended for those firms interested in seeking Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and/or Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification.  By attending the workshop, you will learn the benefits of certification, the five key requirements for certification, and the four steps in the certification process.  For information and registration visit www.mdot.maryland.gov/aaw.

      The event will feature procurement officers from each area as well as offer resources regarding procurement, purchasing, small business and minority business set-asides and other localized programs for our businesses.

      MBCC Members are free, for others there is a $15 fee in advance and $20 at the door.

      The MD Transportation Authority (MDTA) has been conducting its FREE outreach event entitled "Getting Your Foot in the Door" for numerous years and this year is no different. Each year, we strive to increase awareness of the procurement opportunities available at the MDTA, the other Transportation Business Units (TBU) and the State of Maryland.

      It is our goal to provide information to as many small, minority, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses who participate in the State of Maryland Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Small Business Reserve (SBR) and Veteran Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) Programs. Our event will include the following:

      1. Group workshops and discussions that provide necessary tools for small, minority, woman and veteran owned businesses

      2. Provide businesses with one-on-one access to MDTA and other government agencies’ representatives who work in Procurement, Engineering, Consultant Services, IT, and Construction

      3. Provide access to Prime Contractors and other small minority, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses

      4. Provide updated advertising dates for potential upcoming contracts for the agencies in attendance

      Our programmed event is designed to begin at 9:00 AM with various guest speakers to be announced. Also, light refreshments will be provided.

    • Marriott International Headquarters Outreach Event Time: 1:00p - 3:00p Location: 2600 Tower Oaks Blvd. 4th Floor Rockville, MD 20852 Details:

      Hosted by: Boston Properties and The Bernstein Companies on behalf of Marriott International

      The Project is to serve as the new corporate headquarters for Marriott International, in Bethesda, Maryland, and consists of a multi-story build-to-suit Class A office (core & shell only) and a full-service hotel complex built upon a single podium with a five (5) level below grade structured 805 car parking garage. The Project site is situated immediately to the west of the WMATA Red Line.  The office component is approximately 770,000 GSF total, and the hotel component will be a Marriott hotel comprised of 238 keys and ancillary spaces.

      Two separate Contracts will be awarded: one for the office/podium garage, and a second for the hotel. The future office T.I. build out is not a part of this request.

      Demolition of the existing buildings on-site is underway. The balance of the site clearing and garage excavation is scheduled to start July 2018, with completion of the office/garage core & shell and hotel approx. 36 mos. thereafter.
