      On a monthly basis, the Maryland Department of Transportation's Office of Small and Minority Business Policy hosts the MBE/DBE/ACDBE/SBE Application Assistance Workshop.  This workshop is intended for those firms interested in seeking Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and/or Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) and/or Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification.  By attending the workshop, you will learn the benefits of certification, the five key requirements for certification, and the four steps in the certification process.  For information and registration visit www.mdot.maryland.gov/aaw.

    • 4th Annual Business Opportunities & Entrepreneurial Training Summit Time: 8:00a - 5:00p Location: Turf Valley Conference Center, 2700 Turf Valley Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042 Details:

      The 4th Annual Small & Minority Business Opportunities & Entrepreneurial Training Summit, hosted jointly by the Maryland Department of Transportation, the Maryland Department of General Services, the University System of Maryland, University of Maryland College Park and University of Maryland Baltimore, is an event designed to provide opportunities for small and minority firms to learn about upcoming procurement opportunities for three major state agencies and two universities.  Learn from the movers, shakers, and decisionmakers including Procurement Directors and Project Managers.  The Summit also includes entrepreneurial training sessions designed to increase the capacity of small and minority firms.  The Prime Contractor Forum will allow participants to interact directly and network with over 40 prime contractors onsite regarding partnering and subcontracting opportunities.  This is a full day of gained knowledge including agency presentation sessions, workshops, panel discussions, continental breakfast and luncheon with keynote speaker, and Summit reception.

      Baltimore County is hosting its 10th Annual Meet and Greet.

      This is a Meet & Greet business networking event.

      We are offering a FREE opportunity to showcase your business to prime bidders looking for quality partners and sub-contractors.  Over 120 Prime Contractors/Bidders and Government Buyers will be exhibitors.

      Be prepared to present your capability statement to exhibiting business representatives looking to meet MBE/SBE sub-contractors in the areas of Professional Services, Construction Trades, Architecture, Engineering and Other Business Services.

      One-to-One Introduction Meeting Café 

      A One-to-One Meeting is a face-to-face meeting between a small business representative and a government agency and/or prime company to discuss the small businesses product and services offerings privately for five (5) minutes. Each meeting has the potential to open up business opportunities by providing small business representatives with one-to-one exposure to procurement officials/buyers/decision makers. 
       

      Pre-registration to meet with prime companies privately at the One-to-One Introduction Meeting Café (FAQwill:

      Grow your business – Opportunities on the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT) Expansion Project

      The Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel Expansion Project will add a new tunnel and widen the existing I-64 corridor between Hampton and Norfolk. The new tunnel and its approach bridges will accommodate four lanes of traffic for a total of eight lanes of capacity across the water. In addition to the new bridge-tunnel, the project will widen the landside four-lane sections of I-64 in Hampton between Settlers Landing and the Phoebus shoreline, as well as the four-lane sections of I-64 in Norfolk between the Willoughby shoreline and the I-564 interchange.

      The Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel Expansion DBE/SWaM Outreach Event is an opportunity for companies to learn more about the Project and doing business with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its Project Partners. You will have the ability to connect directly with the VDOT Project team and the Design-Build (D-B) Teams, who are competing for the Project. Businesses will also have access to services that can help them certify as a Virginia DBE or register as a SWaM. It is also a chance to network with other small business resources.
