he MDOT Maryland Port Administration has supported dray truck replacements since 2009.  The goal of the program is to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gases associated with the transport of goods to and from the Port of Baltimore.  

The program requires older trucks to be scrapped and provides applicants funding toward the purchase of a newer vehicle with an engine that meets tight,(newer) emissions standards. 
The SmartWay Transport Partnership is an innovative collaboration between EPA and the freight industry to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
