BUILD Transportation Discretionary Grants
The U.S. Department of Transportation invites state and local stakeholders to annually submit applications for discretionary grant funding through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Grant program. This program provides a unique opportunity to invest in road, rail, transit, port, or intermodal projects that promise to achieve national objectives. Previously known as Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery, or TIGER Discretionary Grants, Congress has dedicated nearly $5.6 billion for the nine rounds of National Infrastructure Investments to fund projects that have a significant local or regional impact. For additional information on the BUILD program, please visit the BUILD Grants website from US DOT.
In 2018, the Maryland Department of Transportation submitted the following applications:
- I-81 Phase 2 Corridor Expansion
- BUILDing a Better Howard Street
- Seagirt Marine Terminal Berth 3 Modernization P3 Project
- I-95 At Belvidere Road Interchange
