Commuters who carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, or take transit to work and do not need a dedicated paid parking space can ask their employer for Cash in Lieu of Parking. With this program, an employer provides a cash payment to employers who surrender their parking space. Employers who offer Cash in Lieu of Parking can claim a tax credit (up to or equal to $100 per person), making this option a win-win for both employers and employees.
